Comments from players of first qualifying Game

Heavy:  Well, that was big fun. Thanks to Larry for all the hard work. Congrats to "he-who" and "vic" for their come back wins.

I have no particular regrets on any of my play - I tried to stick with low vig, relatively conservative bets - though the length of the game required that I bet beyond my bankroll. For that reason, I did a lot more hedge betting than I normally would. But anytime you can (almost) double your money in thirty rolls of the dice is a good session. Time to color up.

It'll also be good to take a break away from it for a couple of days. I tend to spend a lot of time on the road - so I sometimes have a hard time finding a computer to log on to. To that end, it might be nice of there were an area where we could post a contingent bet - in other words, a bet that would automatically be placed if you failed to post by a certain time -

Other than that - big fun. Let's do it again

(Thanks for the input about contingent bets. I will put something together!) AhCraps

r_o_l_l_t_h_e_b_o_n_e_s: I felt kind of bad playing in this game because I entered late and I made a ton of bets that I might not normally make while trying to catch up, and I know the idea was to play more or less as you normally would. But given the fixed number of rolls, and the known ending date of that roll, it easy to play more of a tournament-type game than a normal game.

So here's an idea. Tell the entrants that there will be a minimum of 10 rolls and a maximum of 40 rolls. I think this would force people to be a little more conservative (meaning not a tournament strategy) in their betting styles.

I haven't really thought a whole lot about this - it just might not be practical for an online and realtime game. Just an idea

(I believe you missed the whole point for my developing this game. Craps is an individual game. No one forced you to "catch up". I am sorry that you felt that kind of pressure. This game is not about money, it's about doing your best. If you played out of character, than you were not playing your best. But that is not the fault of the game, no more than if you were to play a 15 min. session at the casino.  There is room for conservative players and risk takers. If the risk takers would have lost all their cyber bucks, the conservative players would be on top. If a player sees an opportunity to take a risk and comes out a winner - than that is his style of play. It is all individual strategy and that is what makes this format exciting!  I designed it to be a 30 roll game because there has to be some limit in this format less players lose interest. Like I said, players are not playing for real money which perhaps would motivate them to leave with a predetermined win. I was hoping for players that were willing to share their insight and play for the love of the game! And all, including you, fulfilled my expectations. I respect your opinion that this game is not practical as a learning tool for players and spectators. However, the overwhelming positive response dictates different!) AhCraps

he_who_refuse_to_lose: The 7 at the right time was pure luck - yet how often I discount the power of luck when I'm at the crap table, armed with knowledge, skill, and bankroll and a "chicken feeder" at the end of the table takes me on a repeating visit to 3,1 and 4,6 land. Too often, I refuse_to_lose and stay on the don't side 'cause the 7 rules. Thanks to the Moderator of this game and to the other players for their insight

(I think you are the sleeper modest type!) AhCraps

Vickepmo: Congrats to Heavy and Refuse to lose. Starting from the 16th or 17th roll I thought I was doomed. I studied all the numbers including the 1st 10 and this is what stood out 6/8/9/10 possible for consistent wins 4/5 possible don't or lay bets. Won on big red once partially because of indicators partially because of format used (RNG). All in all it was a hoot thanks Larry .shooter57

(What is important is that you played the Situation as a late comer! Quiet a different approach than ROLLTHEBONES!) AhCraps

Linaway: Fine game, I had the opportunity to rub elbows with some of the finest biggies around if not walk in their shadow. Surprised I did as well as I did. THanks Larry and players for this opportunity of learning. Linaway

(Give it your best shot on the roll-off, would like to see you compete again!) AhCraps

Dicedoctor: It has been a great time guys. I'm off to the buffet for my comp! Larry, thanks for an ingenious learning tool. This had been as fun as playing "for real". You're the best!

Ron Game #2

What a great game that was, THANKS L.F., you did a GREAT JOB!!! I would compare this game to a chess game, but adding a random dice throw into the mix. Being able to think about your next move. You're able to ask questions about odd and payoffs, just incase you don't know them. If your gong to hedge your bets and how? Why your doing what your doing? There is no right or wrong answer, just what YOUR thinking process is. In the beginning I was just playing to stay alive, you saw the table go cold, and people trying to stay afloat, I was betting light. I was not in competition mode at that point, than heavy crashed and burned...I wanted to stay away from that so I went to the dark side,.... got above water and weathered the storm, later into the game some lucky hits made my bankroll full, I would have walked away with that if it were real (I think ... I hope!) I was always in the top 3 and just pulled back at the end, I was expecting a craps, and everyone to fall below the 1K mark, I would have hit for 3K. I could not see betting all that on the last roll! I think this game was a real learning experience. What a great bunch of guys as well! It was a pleasure playing against you guys! THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE. You have to ask yourself, why every craps player is is not dying to play this? I think everyone can benefit from this simulation. FullOfCraps -RON-

Shooter 57 Game #2

Again it was great fun. Looking over my bets I can see some things I should and shouldn't have done. I should have left my buy on the 10 up after hitting on the 4 but the money management habits and locking up wins die hard. In a normal game it would have been a good move but I forget I wasn't playing with the others but playing to beat them. Whole different game. The situational clues for the most part paid off I felt the last number would not be an insider when I saw that 3 and looking at preceding results so I covered this possibility with a horn and field bet hoping of course for a horn #. Every body played great and hats off to swamie (SSS) again. SHOOTER

SSS Game #2

Well that most defiantly was a lot of fun to play. Seeing a table like that (Cold at best) and playing with some great players as there was, kept you on your toes as to where to put your money. Larry you did a fantastic job as usual and I appreciate all the hard work you put in to a game that I enjoyed and looked forward to coming home and seeing what the next roll was. Thanks so much for the education and entertainment. SSS
