Heavy: Steve "Heavy" Haltom was a 21-year-old kid with a polyester leisure suit and Teflon hair the first time he stepped up to a craps table. Thirty years later, the suit and the hair are gone, but his love of the game lives on. In 1994 Heavy started looking for a way to win consistently at casino craps. Through careful study he discovered that certain arrangements of the dice could affect the number rolled. These pre-sets are one of the five key elements of precision dice shooting, and eventually led to the development of his Axis Power Craps program. Heavy's articles on casino craps have appeared in The Crapshooter, The Craps Companion, and many on-line gaming web sites and newsletters. His book, Axis Power Craps, is available through his web site at http://axispower.proboards12.com.
Shooter57: Became interested in craps when I was 24/25 years old {now 61}.Remember the first time I picked up the dice to shoot the dealer said "You have to make a line bet to shoot"As the casinos got more and more idiotic about BJ rules I began to lean more and more to craps.Decided I better learn this game and learn it well .Though I set the dice and am doing better with it than I would have imagined I am still primarily a systems/methods/situation player.SHOOTER57
G.S.S. I live 215 miles from the Ameristar Kansas City (My hang out). There are three other boats in K.C.,but the only other one worth playing is the Isle of Capri ($5 20x) for its' carnival atmosphere. Harrah's has nice eats but the floor is 90% electronic and crowded. I get my casino fix about once a month but spend considerable time "practicing" and planning strategies and trying to keep up with the newsgroup and a few boards. I've been playing craps for 13 yrs everywhere from Vegas to K.C, A.C to the Bahamas, and a couple of cruises out of Florida. My father got me hooked on a road trip to A.C. He explained everything he could about the game mechanics, odds, strategies...in the car on the way. Trump Tower we split up to chart the tables and I bellied up to a hot $25 table. (with a $100 bankroll so maybe he didn't explain everything.) Point 4 full (2x) odds and my father walks up and what he sees doesn't please him. I'm pretty sure we both held our breath for 6 or so rolls till the 4. I've been hooked ever since.
Ron My name is Ron M. (you can call me "FullOfCrap"). I live in central New Jersey (about 1.5 hours from A.C.). I've been playing craps since 1985, (we would cut school and head to A.C, fake I.D's in tow) The first time I got to the table (it was a $2.00 table at the sands), the energy, excitement ....I was hooked. Over the years I've learned much, both from actual play time and Irishsetter.com and ahcraps.com. I've been setting for years. But that was all I was doing. I did not have a proper throw or even a good grip. For the past few years I've been setting correctly (I think), I practice all the time in my living room. My throw is o.k..and is getting better. Money management might be my biggest problem win/lose goals and a session time is something i'm working on. I have never met Heavy,Irish,Southshore, larry, jerry,Lineaway,Sharpshooter, but have been reading their posts for years and feel like I know them like old friends.
SSS: Let the truth be known that I have been playing craps for about 3 1/2 weeks now. I feel that I know enough about the game now that I plan to write a book on craps soon. I usually take my milk money and at lunch time I would shoot dice with the Nuns. (Heck the Priests are off doing there thing, so don't pass judgment on Sister Mary). When I get old enough (I'm in 8th grade now) I'm going to be a professional gambler in the Reno/Tahoe area, my mom said I could. When I comb my hair just right I look a lot older than I really am, so I think I'll be able to start sooner so I can make myself known. Oh gotta go now mom has dinner ready (Mac and cheese) my favorite. See you in the game.
kvuo: I'm Mike from Vancouver WA, who started playing craps about 2 years ago.. I still remember how nervous I was stepping up to a table at Atlantis (Reno) and trying to hand a dealer my buy in. Hey, I learned everything from online casinos, etc.. They dont explain the subtleties of the game like how to buy in or how to stack the cheques when you're laying odds on the DPL... Over the last couple years I've done my learning and I love the game and no longer make a fool of myself. I am a random roller. My best craps success ever was on my last trip to Vegas this past September. Bought in for $20 at the $1 10x sit-down mini-craps at Casino Royale, colored up about 4 hours later for $195. Would have been more if not for the dealer and drink tokes.. Not bad for low-rollin!
